ROLE
Designer and Builder
A distinctive design element within the dwelling is a series of laser-cut panels forming a mural inspired by the Melbourne skyline and the home’s beachside location. The mural starts outside the front entrance and continues inside along the full length of the main hallway. Along the way, two of the panels form hidden doors to adjoining rooms. The mural is stunning at night, lit from behind by LED strip lighting.

Feature sandstone contributes to the building's “beachy” feel in keeping with its seaside location, and contrasts well with the white cement rendered facade, grey aluminium fascias and zincalume external louvers. A personalized detail is present in the digital images printed onto the cantilevered glass sliding gate.

The external al fresco area is accessible via large aluminium doors which slide fully across the rear to create a five metre wide clear opening, effectively creating a seamless indoor/outdoor entertainment area.

The pool abuts the dwelling’s windows providing a sense of openness and an uninterrupted view of the pool from the living area.
